The Round Rock Renegades

Image
Co-Founder Sage (left) and myself.  I recently started a local vaccinated parent playgroup for homeschooled kids with another homeschooling parent. One of the main things that my co-parent was concerned with regarding homeschool, is socialization of the kids.  A local mom & I connected through a larger homeschool group & are both needing some type of social life for our kiddos. We decided that for now meeting outdoors and letting the kids play at a local park was probably the best move. All adults attending/those of age are fully vaccinated, hopefully additionally cutting down on risk. We will meet once a week on Fridays and I couldn’t be more excited to get the kids outta the house and spend time with people we don’t live with for basically the first time in 1.5 years.  What steps are other parents taking to help their kids stay social? I’d love to know! Tired babes after our latest group playdate.

We Love Dr. G

Someone had the best checkup & experience at the dentist recently. We’ve been to Dr. Gupta for over 10 years now, since before I had babies! My whole family including my parents go to him at this point. He’s always so gentle and calm and explains everything really well and I just love that about him! 😍🥰 (I might have a tiny crush on this dentist who cured my childhood driven dentist phobia.) I’m still working on breaking down and planning our curriculum this year, along with keeping tabs on our new local social group. This week is going by so fast! We have our another meet up coming soon & our group has grown already exponentially over just this last week. There’s a giant need for connection. Not just for the kids, but also for their adults. 💜 I’m so excited!

Dot Decorates

Dot decorated her Norditropin hgh case with stickers last night. 💉💕 She’s been on growth hormone since she was 9 months old. I’ve always done the shots for her and at this point she just prefers Mama to handle this task. Due to not producing her own growth hormone caused by her panhypopituitarism , she will be on this and other medications for life. It’s just part of our weekly schedule, as she gets these injections 6 days a week. The dosage and perhaps amount of days she takes it may change with age, but since her body doesn’t produce it at all, these shots are for life. I’ve waited a long time for for her to decorate this case and make it her own. 😍 It’s not the most fun part of our day, but she knows that these shots help keep her muscles alive and strong and keep her body alive and moving. Dot gets it & is the best champ at dealing with these hurdles in her life.
