April In The Burbs

 The elusive John, who hates having his picture taken. 😍 He asked for us to take a picture together the other day when Dot and I got back from the Round Rock Holiday Bizarre . I bought them both adorable holiday mugs with hot cocoa bombs from @fairytale_treats_tx & what can I say? They were an absolute hit for both of the kids! It must have really struck a chord with John because he was extra, extra thankful and appreciative. One of the things I've been especially worried about and working on, especially with John, is appreciating all of the small things in life. Of course we love being able to buy him expensive video games and electronics that he's interested in, but I also want him to appreciate and love the little things in life that don't cost much but bring immense joy to his little heart. It always catches me off guard what little things I do for him, that he really does appreciate so much and show me that he does. This was one of those times and my Mommy Heart

Hobby Town here in Austin has the most amazing selection of not only hobby things, but cool toys.  Just hanging with a human sized Gundam, currently located at the Austin Hobby Town, Here's a small list that I plan on picking up for John & Dot as additional holiday presents:  ✨Couple of smaller/middle sized Lego sets for JB.  ✨An artist's smock for Dot who loves all things art & messy.  ✨ Mad Mattr Modelling Dough - it's kind of expensive, but it never dries out and Dot LOVES Play Doh but we go through a ton at our house so this seemed like a good alternative to try out. ✨ Poop/potty themed slime for both kids - because hilarious.  That's all I can think of off the top of my head, but they have a ton of cool things to check out.  I'm definitely taking the time to shop there again in store for the holidays, it was so fun looking at everything. I forgot how much I enjoy shopping in person after a year+ mainly doing all of my present shopping online. ❤😅
