Non Candy Easter Basket Ideas for Toddlers

Image
Our oldest will be 2 by the time Easter comes around, and definitely enjoys the occasional piece of candy.  That being said, I didn't want to focus on candy being the main thing in his Easter basket this year.  Here's my top 4 ideas for non food/candy related Easter Basket ideas for toddlers.  1. I picked John up some cute Motocross jammies for his basket, but found these totally awesome Ninja Turtle ones for about $7 at Walmart.com .  2. Cars, cars & more cars! Bubba can't get enough of his cars (and even has a cute carrying case for them he got for Christmas), so I picked up a 3 pack and larger Easter eggs and they fit perfectly! Walmart offers a pretty sweet 9 pack f or about $8.  3. Books galore! Our son LOVES to read, so I've picked him up about 5 books for his basket. We will read them a thousand times over, and put them back for also reading to Dottie. Target has some of the cutest Easter books I've seen.  4. And last but not least, a fun toy camera. Bec

Johnny's First Haircut - Birds Barbershop

Image
Johnny has needed a haircut for quite some time, and I got really tired of the shaggy look, so has Nana and I took him to get his very first haircut at BIRDS BARBERSHOP in Austin, Texas. Here's a little picture of Johnny before. And a side-by-side of before and after. John actually did so great, and his hairstylist is definitely sweet and patient with him. Thankfully there were no tears or grumps and he handled his first haircut like a champ! The first time that I looked at the side-by-side picture of before and after, I literally cried. It's such a strange feeling between pride that your baby is getting older and also sadness that he is growing up and it's pretty much hard to explain as a mother. My mom did remind me that I still have another little one that will also be getting her first haircut one day, so I'm sure I'll be having all these crazy emotions again one day. John's haircut was like 20 bucks and I definitely suggest going yourself or taking your ki

Decorating With Instagram Pictures.

Image
One of the biggest pleasures of my life is taking pictures of my loved ones. Since we moved into our new house last September, I've really focused on decorating more with pictures.  Most of the pictures that I take are posted on Instagram and usually in the square format, so I love using PostalPix to print them up and have them mailed to my house. It's a pretty inexpensive process and the picture quality is excellent! Unfortunately, I've had a harder time finding inexpensive square frames to go with my Postalpix pictures.  I've resorted to using regular frames for 4 x 6 pictures, but putting a background behind the square pictures like this. I was out picking up a few things at Walmart the other day, and noticed that they had 4 x 4 (which is the exact size I typically order from PostalPix) frames! They come in two packs for only two dollars! Or $6 for 6 online . So of course I bought four packs.  Finally! Inexpensive frames that are classy looking and don't cost an

The Mommy Hook

There something that every mommy, no matter how many kids and what ages they are, wishes she had. And that is an extra set of hands! The Mommy Hook gives you just that.  With buying groceries, transporting babies, shopping, and just every day activities, everyone needs an extra hand now and again. The Mommy Hook is made of heavy duty aluminum, and is perfect for hanging things on strollers, allowing you to carry multiple grocery bags inside the house or shopping bags while out shopping. I utilize my mommy hook with our diaper bag by hanging my keys on it, so they are at the ready and I don't have to search for them when it's time to go somewhere. I've also been known to hang our diaper bag on the back of my car head rest so diapers and snacks are easily accessible at all times. Want to win The Mommy Hook?  Want to win a Mommy Hook for you and a friend? Hit up my Instagram for details!    The Mommy Hook was provided for review and giveaway. All opinions and photos are my ow

This Week.

This week was long. It was hard. But I'm not here to talk about that. I thought I'd post some of my favorite pictures from the last couple of weeks, to remind myself what I'm grateful for.
