Review: Made From Earth Vitamin C Moisturizer

Image
With Fall and Winter upon us, I'm finding it so important to keep my skin (especially my face and hands) properly moisturized.  Made From Earth has a fantastic Vitamin C Moisturizer in their current product line that I've simply fallen in love with.  Some of the major pluses for me are that it's organic, contains the highest possible concentration of Vitamin C, doesn't contain a strong overpowering scent and it absorbs quickly, which is always nice for us busy moms!  This Vitamin C Moisturizer regularly runs for $54.99 for 2 ounces, but is currently on sale for $44.00 on their site .  As I always say, treat yourself!  With this product you'll love the results and feel better about your skin, what could be better than that?  A sample was provided by Made From Earth for this review. All opinions and photos are my own.

Johnny's Big Weekend!

Image
One of the first animals Johnny recognized by sight and also made the sound for was the cow.  He'd never actually seen a real cow, so when Hutto had their Olde Tyme Days, I thought it would be a perfect chance to say take him and see the Longhorn they have in front of the Texan Café every year. It was super adorable, he started mooing as soon as he saw the Longhorn walking down the street towards us. We were also able to make it out to the Fall Festival that's held at the St. Richards Episcopal Church  near us every year. They have food trucks, a petting zoo, ponies you can ride, live music, a huge pumpkin patch, and trunk or treating. We mainly went for the petting zoo so Johnny could love on some cute little animals and of course we had to get pictures taken of him at the pumpkin patch. We were certainly disappointed that we didn't have Dorothy with us this year to enjoy the weekend and the Fall Festival, but we are so happy that she is doing a bit better and making pro

Huge Dottie News!

Image
Dottie came off the respirator today! Yay! They also took out her *picc line, which is also some great progress.    Dottie's currently being switched every 6 or so hours between a cpap mask and nose cannula .  Here's her picture from today.  This was very unexpected but super great news for her! We are still waiting for her surfactant deficiency genetic test results to come back hopefully on Friday, October 24th.  The genetic test results should tell us all the information we need to progress on her treatment.  Thanks to everyone for keeping poor little family in your thoughts, we greatly appreciate it.    *A peripherally inserted central catheter ( PICC  or PIC  line ) is a form of intravenous access that can be used for a prolonged period of time (e.g. for long chemotherapy regimens, extended antibiotic therapy, or total parenteral nutrition).

Darling Dottie - Newborn Photos

Image
Two days after Dorothy was born and admitted to Dell Children's Medical Center , she had some professional bedside pictures taken.  Heather who works with The March of Dimes foundation, brought Christine Garcia, a professional photographer, by to work her magic and take pictures of our precious Dottie.  We received all photos in color and black and white, which I thought was just great.  I thought I'd share some of my faves from her little newborn photo shoot.  Thank you so much to Heather from March of Dimes, and Christine Garcia for donating her talent and time to take pictures of our sweet baby girl.

Photo Phun (get it?)

Since there's so much going on, and Mama needs a break from explaining everything going on, I thought today's post would mostly include pictures.  Whooo, pictures!  So this happened this morning. It feels like forever since I had a good old fashioned Johnny cuddles.  With Halloween decorations strewn about the house, of course JB has gotten in on the action. We feel the same about spiders, clearly.  Dottie prefers to sleep on her tummy, just like Mama. How could I resist a picture of those cute and sassy baby feet?  It's not a photo update without an artsy silhouette! These dudes weren't feeling so hot over the weekend (well, none of us were). No way in hell I was going to allow pictures of my sickness to be taken. But these guys are so cute even when sick!  On Friday I met up with Penni and spent a couple of hours eating massive amounts of Home Slice pizza, drinking red wine and talking about fun stuff. It was a nice birthday break from all that's going on.  I'v
