October Highlights

Image
I thought I'd post a few personal highlights from October. Just for fun! Dottie had surgery to close her g-tube site. All went well and she's healed up amazingly with no complications. The kids started to get into the Halloween spirit. Dottie laughed out loud when the first person was "killed" during the Lone Star Saber Academy demonstration at the Round Rock Library.  My best friend made me a super yummy 33rd birthday cake from scratch - she's a good cook like that! Darren and I got our early vote on.  We took the kids to a pumpkin patch and were able to get really only one decent picture of all of us.  We ended up having a pretty fantastic Halloween!  What were some of your favorite parts of October this year?

Get Your Vote On

No matter who you're voting for, be sure and get out and VOTE on Tuesday, November 8th. It only takes a few minutes with a little planning, and it's so very important. Darren, Dottie and I voted after we dropped Bubba off at school and were in and out in less than 5 minutes.

Boo! Happy Halloween 2016

My favorite thing about Halloween isn't necessarily the candy, although let's be honest, that is one of my favorite things about the holiday. My personal favorite thing is the costumes. I love seeing all of the little kids (and big adults) go wild with their imagination for one night and be able to be anything they can think up! This year I let Darren pick Dottie's costume. He opted for her being Pikachu and he was a Team Mystic Pokemon Trainer. I went with my traditional Black Cat costume, and had so much fun with the bold makeup - can't help but admire how it brings out the green in my eyes.  Johnny opted to be a Leonardo from TMNT , complete with super ninja moves and all.  We also took the kids to the pumpkin patch at St. Richard's Episcopal Church down the street. Every year they host a huge pumpkin patch to raise funds for their church and the community, so it's been tradition for us to go ever since Johnny's first Hall
