Florida or Bust! Pt 1

Image
Last weekend Johnny and I had the pleasure of flying out to Florida with my mom and Johnny's Nana, Kathy. It was Johnny's first flight ever, and both of our first trip to Florida. Nana Used to live in Florida about 35 years ago when she was pregnant with my older brother, and was very excited to show Johnny and myself around for the weekend. Johnny did amazingly fantastic on the plane ride, and traveling with a two-year-old was way easier than I had ever anticipated it to be. A huge thanks to United airlines for letting Johnny ride in my lap any time he was feeling a little anxious during any of our flights. We stayed at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel , only 2 miles from the Orlando international Airport. This was super convenient since we didn't have to worry about traffic on our way back out of town.   Part 2 of our Florida trip coming soon, there's just too much to talk about in one post!  Part 2 will feature our first stop in Florida, Universal Studios !  Where did

Texas Museum of Science and Technology - Body Worlds Exhibit

Image
Yesterday we had the pleasure or visiting the T exas Museum of Science and Texhnology , or TXMOST.  The current exhibit is that of Body Worlds & The Cycle Of Life .  There are more than 100 specimens in this exhibit, ranging from healthy to diseased body parts as well as full plasticized human bodies showing muscular, skeletal, and vascular systems.  There are full-body Plastinates posed in various action poses such as hockey players, flamingo dancers, a singer and more.  At the beginning of the exihibit there is a 7 minute long video that plays on a loop, showing and explaining the Plastination process invented by Dr. Gunther Von Hagens in 1977.  This was truly a once in a lifetime experience,  and I'm so happy we were able to see this exhibit before it's gone after September 20th 2015.  I would highly recommend seeing this exhibit before it's gone, as it truly is remarkable to behold. Children under 6 get in free, and you can purchase tickets here .  **Unfortunately,

Hawaiian Falls Pflugerville.

We were invited today to take the family to Hawaiian Falls here in Pflugerville . It's just down the road from our house so I have a feeling will be visiting pretty often during the summers to come. My son Johnny really really loved the Pfluger Kooler, which is a meandering lazy river ride that is 1000 feet long! He actually wanted to stay on that ride all day if we let him, but there was just too much to do to just stay there all day! Although not suitable for the smallest kids, this mama certainly enjoyed one of the largest waterslide rides called the Maui Wowee.  There are three separate slides on this attraction, one is even open at the top and the other two are completely enclosed. I would say that Maui Wowee is definitely a ride for the thrill seekers of your family! There's also a Hawaiian Falls Adventur Park with zip lines, rope obstacles, a climbing wall, and even a 6 story freefall.  There's something for everyone at Hawaiian Falls and we were so happy to go as a
