Tips On NOT Being A Crappy Neighbor

Image
So last night I was woken up by my neighbor's loud music playing until about 12:30AM.  I was NOT in the best mood having to wake up at 5:30 this morning, due to being up approximately an hour & having to call the Sheriff to come by & ask them to shut that crap off.  So I vlogged about it, yay for you ! The video is a darker quality, because I took it on my drive home this morning about 6:30ish, but it's still a valid topic !  Enjoy.  Wanna see some of the  mess that was left next door, that I got to see in the light of morning when I pulled up to my house ? You're gonna luuuuurve this shiz:     Do you have any supremely disrespectful neighbors you can't stand ?  How do  you solve problems that come up with them ?

Don't Break My Twiheart !

Image
Ok, ok, I must admit. I have never seen any of the Twilight movies all the way through. I have actually only watched about 40 minutes of the first movie, and that was very recently.  It's not like I have anything innately against these movies, in fact what I've seen of them, I really kinda got into. I just haven't sought out the franchise because I've been inundated with it for years now and that alone kinda turned me off. I try not to judge the material it's self, since obviously I have never consumed it myself.  That being said, I have heard about the Kristen & Rob situation, just the same as all of you.  My BFF is a true Twihard, so since she was coming over to hang out, I thought I would vlog her reaction to the Rupert & Kristen statements & discuss the issue at hand.  What do you think about this ?

Guest Post: You're Never Fully Dressed Without Your Confidence

Image
Finding a way to let true beauty shine is easier than you might think. The best way to show the world the true beauty inside you is to wear your confidence as an accessory with every outfit. There is nothing more beautiful than a woman comfortable in her own skin. Wearing clothing that makes you feel pretty allows you express who you are inside—and this is the key to letting your natural beauty shine through.    Be sure to grab a maxi dress this summer season! These elegant dresses are very popular right now and won't break the bank. They can be worn on the beach, out to dinner, shopping, or anything you want. Even though they can be elegant, they are just casual enough to be used for any occasion while still making women feel beautiful. This is one hot red carpet style that will last you the entire day without having to change regardless of the events occurring. Women's shoes are another great way to feel confident. Wedges and heels always ma

A Very Surprising Summer.

Sorry for the lack of updates. There's been quite a lot going on around here in the days I've been away.  I ordered, received & have been practicing my new Ukulele.  Currently, I'm learning the C & G7 chords while practicing Row, Row, Row Your Boat.  So far I think I'm doing pretty well ! I picked up some picks at Guitar Center & it's definitely easier to strum with those, so yay !  Another HUGE thing that's happened, is I had the pleasure of escorting Mom to Caldwell, Tx to pick up a new 2 1/2 old puppy she named Lyric Daisy.    She was turned over to a vet in Caldwell by her owners who mentioned that she was a mix of Dachshund and Terrier of some type. Everyone keeps asking if she has any Beagle in her, but the vet didn't think so & I think everyone mainly thinks that because of her coloring.  She and Sailor are getting along extremely well, he treats her like his little sister. She loves walking up

Happy Birthday, Son.

Guess who turned 1 year old today !!  Did you guess ?  If you guessed Sailor Bear, you'd be right !!  We're planning a little family pool party for him this afternoon with his Granny, Pawpaw, me & his dad once he gets off work.  It's gonna be fun & I hope to have some pics for you all over the next few days.  Taken this morning while he was begging for treats ;)

For Posterity

Hubs and I had some fun spending some of my iVillage prize money this weekend. I bought only a few, high quality items & also spent money on Sailor and of course, food.  I took Hubs & I out to an amazing Japanese Steakhouse that also serves Sushi called Fujiyama . This is probably my favorite place to eat in Austin, hands down, because of the fried rice they make. It's simply the best I've ever had (and I've had a lot). Happy 'cause we're about to eat some yummy food!  I forgot the cook's name, sorry dude ! But he did a great job cooking our lunch & giving us a show. I bought myself a 8GB Nook at Barnes & Noble & a cute cover for it.  Isn't he so cute ? I couldn't resist taking a little picture of him watching us, watching him.  We also hit up PetSmart to pick up a few things for Sailor. I got him a harness (that was too big & I had to return), a new KONG leash & a cute rope toy.  I'm

Minimalist Musings Monday

Image
When I said to my husband the other day that I wanted to get more into Minimalism, he said "We kind of are already.". And you know, I was thinking about it since he said that, and I do agree.  We are a 1 car couple, which totally keeps costs down. Those things are expensive!  We waited forever to get a puppy ( Sailor ), because we both knew it was a huge responsibility. Not to mention another thing to add to the household cost wise. We also didn't feel that with both of us working 40+ hours a week at the time, it would be fair to puppy time wise. (I'm glad some of those things changed, and we've had him almost a year now.)   I try to only purchase what I really need or really, really want. It's hard not to impulse shop and I still do it from time to time, but in far less quantities.  And this may sound silly, but I would assume that approximately 80% of what I spend, is on food. When I have $20 left in my pocket, I think to myself  "Man,

A Few Of My Favorite Things

Image
Thought I'd show you all just a few of my favorite things as of late.  Sandals that fit well, are cute, and remind me of the 50's. Studded bags that scream of groupies and rock stars.  Ripped jeans a la 80's style.   Happy 4th of July, folks ! I think this may be my new favorite drink...just saying ;)  Sparkles & skulls. Need I say more ?  What are a few of your favorite things ?

Simplify,Streamline & Smile While Doing It

Image
Since I quit my high paying office job about three years ago due to stress, I decided it was time to clean out a ton of other clutter from my life.  I went through my closet, got rid of clothes that I never wore, didn't fit right anymore, or never fit right. I got rid of shoes, purses, belts & anything else that I had no further use for. And you know what ? It felt good. At that time, I also decided to make a more conscience effort to spend money only on things that I absolutely fell in love with. Why waste money I didn't have on material items I didn't really want or need ?  I haven't gotten all loco about simplifying my life. I would like to, though. I would like to be able to live on a super modest income, have no major bills, spend more money and time on fun things, not necessities. I'm still working on that part, but have definitely gotten a bit better as time goes on. I see the value more in spending my money on my friends and loved ones and shari

Who doesn't need a new Pantech Swift Phone !

Image
Hey guys ! I received this Pantech Swift & after checking it out decided it's not exactly what I'm needing right now. These just came out on June, so they're super new on the market & are going for about $289.99 without a contract.  There's nothing wrong with it, but instead of trying to sell it or something, I thought it'd make a perfect giveaway item !  Who doesn't need a new phone now & again ?  Please be aware that I am not a technical person so you'll have to find answers to any questions you may have about this phone or your provider, etc.  I can tell you this, Hubs paid for an unlock code on it, so you can now use it on various networks & not just AT&T. I put my T-Mobile sim card in & was able to make calls, no issue.  Enter below if you'd like to win!  US Residents only please, winner will  be announced on 7/31 on this blog and via Twitter. This giveaway was in no way d

Pretty, pretty trees.

My neighbors have a couple of cool trees.  I never know what they're called, but I love when they bloom.   The colors are so vibrant, they remind me of candy.
