April In The Burbs

A few weeks ago, I happened into a very lovely little Twitter Party being hosted by iVillage & wouldn't you know it - I had a ton of fun & even ended up winning the grand prize, which was a $1000 AmEx gift card.  "Score!" Is of course, what you're thinking. And yes, there is a ton I could do with this money.  Like: pay off old hospital bills, get Malibu Stacey Deuce worked on, make a huge payment on Hubs' credit card.  But no .  If you actually thought I would do any of that with this money - you clearly don't know me very well. I DO want to spend this money - mainly on myself. Yes, selfish a bit. Then again it is free money that I won & I never get to spend money on myself & not feel guilty for it.  I don't need to justify my spending habits to you ! See? I have my reasons ! Hubs supports me in my choice to spend this cash however I see fit, but I did want to buy him at least one cool thing. His request

Lovely views of Austin and the Keep Austin Weird Fest 5K stage from the The Long Center's VIP Balcony.  Plenty of shade & a nice cool breeze.  I really loved this place, can't you tell ?  Me & Mommyson doing it up right VIP style, baby! Then we headed down to get some yummy Amy's Ice Cream & handcut fries to die for from The Upper Decks in Austin. Eating those yummy fries ! South Austin just got It's newest Whole Foods !   It's in a 39600 square foot building, located at 4301 W. William Cannon.  The official Store Opening, or better known in the Whole Foods community as a Bread Breaking (how can you not love that?), is on June 19th at 7:30AM.  This store was built and decorated with tons of visually interesting reclaimed materials. Examples include these vintage tail gates pulled from a West Texas salvage yard hanging over the checkout stands. The Bulk section boasts a huge wall of various goods.  There's also an on site Specialist, Kelly Dennis, to assist you with healthy eating ideas.  Don't forget the flowers !  Whole Foods Arbor Trails offers up a large variety of cut flowers, including Whole Trade certified options.  Whole Foods believes in treating the whole body, so they offer a complete line of natural cosmetics, natural body care and homeopathic remedies. BB's Burgers and More  1615 Grand Ave. Parkway  Pflugerville, TX 78660 (512) 990-3700 She Said... Since we noticed the sign up for BB's a couple of months ago, we've been waiting with baited breath to try this Burger joint out. I liked their decor - very minimalist. You walk in to clean walls, tons of tables, an open grill to the right. This place reminds me of an old fashioned burger place. Straightforward, no unneeded frills. I ordered a hamburger with mustard & pickles only, fries & a drink. Although they initially got my burger wrong, putting American cheese on it instead of mustard, the problem was quickly (within 30 seconds) rectified & I was back off to my table to enjoy my lunch. I really liked the flavor to this burger. I mean yes, it was juicy, the bun was toasted which is always a plus, but the main thing I noticed about my burger was that I could taste the salt & pepper seasoning. It wasn'

Had such a blasts at MiO & Univision's H2O Music Fest in Dallas yesterday.  Saw all of the artists I wanted to see, drank a TON of Mio - I think Black Cherry & Lemonade may just be my two new faves !  This blog post shall be short on words, as I am a cooked little lobster girl who's very tired after a 6 hour road trip & 7 hours at the H2O Music Fest yesterday.  So instead, you get a tons of pics ! Whooo !!  Oh yeah & a couple of videos - lucky you !  It'll be like you were there with me, hanging out in the hot Texas Sun & drinking lots of water with yummy MiO ! Heading to H2O Music Fest from Austin to Dallas. The Go Pro, Hero 2 Camera Mio sent me to use to document my day ! MiO had this awesome photo booth where you could use props for the photos & they printed the pics & you could post them online w/ cool iPads they had set up. It was amazing lol. So about a week ago, I was contacted by Kraft Foods, the makers of MiO .  Turns out, MiO & Univision are throwing this amazing H2O Music Fest in Dallas & Los Angeles this Summer.  Kraft Foods & MiO asked ME to attend the event, and are even providing me with a VIP pass & 4 wristbands so my friends and family can come with me and enjoy this amazing event!!  This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, guys ! I'm going to be representing Kraft Foods & MiO !  I'll be provided a camera to film my VIP experience & get good coverage of the bands & my backstage excursion!  H2O Music Fest will feature a TON of really great acts like Snoop Dogg , Gym Class Heroes, Damian Marley , and Weezer . They're also featuring many hot, hot, hot Latin artists like Juanes , Paulina Rubio, Prince Royce & MORE.  Kraft Foods sent me a sample of MiO Liquid Water Enhancer !
