Buda TX Dachshund Races and Country Fair

Image
The Buda Lions Club held their annual Dachshund Races and Country Fair to raise funds this last weekend of April, the 26th & 27th at the Buda City Park. This weekend was also a cook off for people who wanted to barbecue or make chili and a bake-off for all of those bakers out there. I entered the bake off with a peach cobbler and also brought one for the auction. Although I didn't place with my recipe,  my peach cobbler that was auctioned off brought $15!  There were cute dachshunds, all perfectly behaved, and a few other dogs were brought to. Tons of booths to satisfy all of your dachshund needs, such as doormats,T-shirts, toys, and there were even a few booths so you could apply to adopt a dachshund, which I thought was great.  This event is an excellent chance for the whole family to get out and have some fun while donating to a great cause.  For more information on the Buda Lions Club and all that they do, please visit their websi

My Furry Friend

Made an appointment for Sailor today to get his anxiety issues dealt with. They range from stranger aggression to not wanting to be picked up to no touching his paws and having accidents when we take him to get his nails trimmed. He needs a good grooming on the reg, but first we must address his high anxiety when dealing with such situations. Do your pets have any anxiety or social issues?

Time for Easter!

Image
I'm so excited that Easter is here already! Last year Johnny was born in time for Easter, but he was far too little for us to do anything. I think the most we did is go over to my parents for a nice Easter lunch which I'm sure was awesome.  This year, Johnny got to take his picture with the Easter Bunny. I also plan on dying some Easter eggs for him tomorrow, and he will also have a couple of Easter baskets! No egg hunt this year but hopefully next year he'll be walking and be able to pick up all those Yummy Easter eggs.  How are you spending your Easter Sunday?

First Year Checkup, Ikea & a Move

Image
Wow! Johnny and I had such a busy week this last week. On Tuesday he has his one year checkup and shots. Then we took Nana to Ikea for a yummy lunch. Then it was off to my OB appointment for our baby due in September! In May I will have the anatomy scan done and hopefully we'll find out if it's a boy or girl. Hubs actually took that appointment in May off, so he'll be going with me :-) This will be the first appointment he will have attended with the new baby. Gotta save up his paid time off and vacation time for when the new little one gets here, I'm going to need all the help I can get. We're very excited to start nesting fir the new little one, but with a move coming this summer, I think we'll wait until we're startled in a bit. Lots of changes coming our way! What's new with all of you?

Johnny's Pirate Party

Image
Johnny had a great first birthday party yesterday! It was held at a park near our house and family and friends attended. There was cake and punch, lots of gifts and even some dancing done by the birthday boy himself! We got his birthday cake at Target (they even provided a fee small snag cake with purchase of his sheet cake!) and his balloons at Party City.

Austin Welcomes See's Candies

Image
Austin welcomed its first ever See's Candies is this week. Myself being new to this amazing candy store, I was super excited to attend a blogger event the day before the grand opening. speaking of the grand opening it is today, April 4th. There's a wheel for spinning to win awesome treats, hats for the kiddos, and of course all of the shopping anyone could ever dream of! What I'm really impressed with about See's Candies is that they offer high-quality chocolates but at a super reasonable price compared to the quality. I'm also really excited about the amazing selection of Easter candy if they currently have available in stores, online, and through their paper catalog. Be sure to stop by the shop off Braker and 183 if you're in Austin. And don't forget they offer free samples if you'd like to try something you've never had before! See's Candies North Hills Town Center 10710 Research Blvd Austin, Texas US (512) 372-1048 Shop hours: Mon-Sat 10

Johnny is ONE!

He had breakfast of pancakes and eggs with his dad and I before his daddy went to work yesterday. He got to go to Target and spend the $10 his Great Granny B. Sent him. He bought a super adorable pair of Mickey Mouse shoes that he picked out his self and refused to let go. I also bought him a Fisher Price tambourine and maracas while we were there. Then we came home and he got to open his official first present from Nana and Papaw. He received 3 board books, a new bath toys, & a new bed from then. Then I fed him a yummy lunch and we took a long one hour nap cuddled up together. But I think the best part of his day was definitely his cupcake smash!
