April In The Burbs

It may as well be summer in Texas already. Most days it's hitting 85-90 degrees, and raining lots over the last two weeks. Luckily, it's a 4 day Memorial Day weekend for us, so I thought a baby pool party was in order. Of course we couldn't (okay, wouldn't) leave out the watermelon! I hope you and your family have enjoyed your long weekend as much as we have, and I hope everyone remembers who fought and still fight to keep up free, and thank a veteran you know. I thought it'd be fun to put together a post about some of my personal favorite outfits Dottie has worn over the last year. Both dressy(ish) and casual. I try to find pieces of clothes for her that I'd love to wear. I mean let's be honest, I'm totally living vicariously through her wardrobe while I can, because one day very soon she'll be wanting to veto my ideas and pick her own clothes out. Or downright refuse to wear is, as the case will more than likely be. I really love this mixed pattern dress from Makers Market Shop on Etsy. Mixing patterns is a simple, yet stunning way to add a little spice to any outfit.  This was actually Dottie's Easter dress this year. I picked it up at Target for about $20. I typically love to do a casual yet semi-dressy look for holidays, just to make sure she's comfy and isn't too constricted by her clothing. I've been working on upgrading Dottie's wardrobe lately. Yesterday I bought Johnny and Dottie a portable bubble blower for the pack porch. I thought it may be fun to have so many floating in the air with such simplistic grace, that the kids may enjoy it.  Johnny wasn't feeling so hot yesterday, and the weather had been so gray and rainy lately, that I wasn't sure we'd even be able to attempt it today. And Dottie and I were most certainly not doing it without him.  Luckily today he was feeling much better, so this morning after snack we all went out. Daddy and Sailor included.  I'm hoping we can go out again after dinner.
