Month 5: Boost Your Sales with Smart Marketing
Hey resellers! Welcome to Month 5 of our reselling series, where we're diving into "Effective Marketing Techniques." Let's keep it simple and super effective:
1. Go Digital or Go Home:
The digital world is where the action is! In this era, it's crucial to take your reselling game online. Use the power of social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn to showcase your products. Explore the art of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to ensure your online store appears at the top when potential customers are searching for products like yours. Additionally, leverage the ever-effective email marketing strategy to directly connect with your audience and keep them in the loop about your reselling journey.
2. Rock Social Media:
Be where your customers are – on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Post cool stuff, chat with your audience, and use hashtags to reach more people. I find that having at minimum an Instagram, to be helpful. It's a place that you can share photos, videos, links, etc. It's nice because it's kind of a one stop place to socialize and to also promote any sales or unique items you may have in your shop.
3. SEO Power:
Make sure your online store pops up when people search for products like yours. Research keywords that pertain to each item, and what people are searching for online regarding the types of products and services that you offer. It's important that you use keywords that will help your customers find exactly what they're looking for, so be descriptive with colors, shapes, style and time period.
4. Email Like a Pro:
Email is still a winner. Collect emails, send out newsletters, and share exclusive deals. Personalize your emails to make customers feel special. Make sure to share some of the background steps to reselling, or some interesting information about a particular item. This will help your customers understand the time and energy it takes to source cool items for them to buy and help them to connect emotionally to the item.
5. Create Awesome Content:
Keep your audience hooked with killer content. Write blogs, make videos, or design cool graphics. Share tips, stories, and customer reviews. Make your brand shine. The more of your personality that can come across, the better for your business.
6. Most importantly; Be Consistent:
Success takes time. Stick to your plan, post regularly, and learn from what works and what doesn't. You'll figure out what you're especially good at, like finding vintage items, or popular name brand clothing. Give yourself time to learn what sells and what doesn't for you and focus on sourcing items that have a proven selling record for you or others online. But most importantly, don't give up! Selling online is still retail and there will be slower months. It doesn't mean you're doing anything wrong, and being consistent will help acquire and retain your customer base.
